ENTRIES

 Entries, with the entry fee of $15 per athlete, must reach the address below by 12PM Friday October 28. Please DO NOT use a courier or Greyhound as they do not deliver on weekends. Email with Canada Post overnight for payment is the best route to go.


Late entries will not be accepted. All entries are to be submitted at one time by the ZONE REPRESENTATIVE along with the zone results.

 No money no entries.

PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Date: Saturday November 5, 2011.
Site: Telemark Cross Country Ski Area, Kelowna, BC

Telemark Cross Country Ski Area.  Take the Glenrosa exit off of highway 97 just south of Westbank and follow Glenrosa all the way up towards Crystal Mountain. After about 8 km along this road you’ll see the turnoff for Telemark Cross Country Ski Area on the left hand side. Park in the large dirt lot and walk the 50m in to the lodge and start area.

  

 

Schedule: 

Girls - 10 AM (4.8km )

Boys - 11 AM (6.5km )

Presentations - 12 PM Glenrosa Middle School

Awards: Our sponsors request that athletes be in school uniform (jerseys) during the awards ceremony. Athletes will want to ensure that they have a clean jersey on hand for pictures during the awards presentation.

QUALIFICATIONS

1.      Zones for the Cross Country are identical to those established for the BCHSTF Championships. The berths for the 2010 BC High School Cross Country Championships are:

o    8 berths - Fraser Valley (AGM 2010)

o    3 berths - Bby - New West - Richmond 

o    3 berths - Vancouver 

o    3 berths - Okanagan 

o    4 berths - Vancouver Island (AGM 2007)

o    3 berths - Kootenays 

o    3 berths - North Shore 

o    2 berths - Independent 

o    2 berths - North Central 

o    2 berths - North West 

2.      Zones with three or four berths qualify the first 1-20 individuals in each race, including team members. Zones with two berths will qualify the top 1-15 individuals in each race, including team members.

3.      A team must qualify through its proper zone.

4.      All team members must attend the same school grades 8-12.

5.      Only SEVEN (7) runners are to be listed on the entry form and all seven may run on the day of the meet. Only the top 5 will score.

Athletes must be accompanied to the competition by a sponsor who is a teacher. If accompanied by a zone representative or teacher from a school other than the one the student attends, the designated person MUST be approved in writing by the school principal prior to the meet. The letters will be collected and verified by the meet management at the site. Athletes without a teacher/sponsor will be sent home.
